The Darker the Berry the Sweeter the Juice

Now this is so true in more ways than one (if you know what I mean) but right now I'm talking about three berries that are not only good, but good for you. I love fruit and this year I'm really getting focused on wellness and I want to pass on a great fruit salad that will improve your body inside and out. The "Three Berry Salad" consists of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. They are known as the "Super Food" because they are packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber. They are also rich in antioxidants which help to protect the cells in your body from damage and helps to prevent disease and aging. (and it's cheaper than botox) So just cut up the strawberries and add the raspberries and blueberries and you'll have a sweet and nutritional snack. For you ladies who are always on the go and don't have time for breakfast I recommend the "Three Berry Smoothie". My mother started make smoothies for our family a few years ago and now I never have to go to Jamba Juice. (I still love that place, shh don't tell her). So Enjoy your fruit salad and smoothie and have a "Berry" good day!
Three Berry Fruit Smoothie Recipe:
1 cup "the three berry's
1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup non-fat yogurt
1 banana

Savvy Car Update: The 2008 CTS

I have found it really strange that some people still think that women don't know about cars. But it's not like it was 30 years ago. Today women are the primary decision makers in the home and with more ladies going to college, starting their own businesses and even moving up the ranks in corporate america... we can buy our own cars.
So let's talk about cars, and you know the kind I'm talking about, you know the one's that cause you to do a double take when someone races past you or make you want to get dressed up when you go out for a drive even if it's right down the street.
I have had the pleasure to work as a presenter for Cadillac for the North American Auto Show circuit for three years and I am constantly amazed at the product line that Cadillac is putting on the road today. Cadillac has a 100 year history and was the car that signified that you have "arrived". The new 2008 CTS is stylish, advanced and affordable. It starts at $32,990 and will max out in the low to mid 40's. It's available in a V6 engine with a choice of AWD or RWD with automatic or manual transmission. You can enjoy features like heated and cooled seats, voice activated DVD navigation system, heated windshield washer fluid and the list goes on. If you want to be seen in one of the best looking and technological advanced cars of the season, make sure you go to http://www.cadillac.com/

Michelle Obama: One step closer

Well Barack Obama just won the Iowa primary (he's the first black man to do it) and now I find myself sitting back and thinking of just how close we are to seeing the first black man become the President of the United States. I always felt that it was possible in my lifetime but I wondered if my 82 year old grandmother who's generation endured so much would ever think that she would experience something like this. And I do call it an experience because this is something new for all us. Now although I enjoyed Barack's acceptance speech my eyes focused on his wife Michelle and his two beautiful children Malia & Sasha. I instantly started to visualize the elegant and stylish Jackie O and her children John and Caroline running around the White House. But the difference is, that was over 40 years ago and this woman looks like me. Not only is she a wife and mother but she graduated with her law degree from Harvard so in other words, she can hold her on. Every time I see her she's so polished ,confident and savvy she's a sistah and she's not trying to be anyone else. I know she will make a wonderful role model to not just women of color but all women. Let's make sure we follow this campaign close because I know the best is yet to come.

Make sure you check out http://www.barackobama.com/ to keep updated with the next step that Barack & Michelle take on their way to the White House.

Savvy Celebrity: Gabrielle Union

My sophisticated & stylish sistah for the week is actress Gabrielle Union. She is the Hollywood "it" girl at this time and everywhere you see her from premiers to parties you'll always see that winning smile. The last movie she did was "The perfect Holiday" with Morris Chestnut & Queen Latifah and she looked so elegant on the cover of the December issue of Essence Magazine with fellow actresses Nia Long and Sanna Lathan. A well spoken and classy lady she also has the most beautiful and flawless skin and that's why she's a spokesperson for Neutrogena. Newly divorced, you will find her at many industry parties but she always looks on point with all of her wardrobe picks. Keep your eyes open for more of this sophisticated & stylish sistah for 2008.
